Annual Camp Refresh, Highlights Road Safety Awareness For Children

22 Jul, 2024 02:07 AMAdmin

CHARLESTOWN, Nevis July 20, 2024-The Department of Community Development's Annual Camp, REFRESH at Charlestown Secondary School is ensuring our children are educated on road safety! Under the theme "A Fun Summer Experience through Shared Learning," children from across the island are participating in two weeks filled with educational and engaging activities.

A standout moment from the camp was the informative presentation by officers from the Nevis Traffic Department of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force, on July 19. They taught the children essential road safety tips, including the importance of using pedestrian crossings, understanding traffic signals, and always wearing seatbelts and helmets.

Commissioner of Police Mr. James Sutton praised the initiative, emphasizing the importance of early education on road safety to cultivate a culture of responsibility and vigilance.

Thank you to everyone who are making this year's Camp REFRESH a memorable and educational experience! 🌟
