Traffic Court Convictions

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – August 2, 2024: At a sitting of the Basseterre Magistrate Court, presided over by Her Honor Mrs. Shelly Ann Liburd-Charles. The following cases were adjudicated and disposed as follows:

  1. Ellington Fyfield of Station Street, Old Road, was convicted and fined $2,000.00, payable by August 2, 2024, for the offence of driving without due care and attention which was committed on November 6, 2022. In default of payment, he will face 14 days of imprisonment.
  2. Laughton Connor of St. Paul’s was convicted and cautioned for the offence of driving without due care and attention committed on September 1, 2023.
  3. Shaquane Trotman of Cayon was convicted and fined $1,000.00, payable in two months, or face 14 days of imprisonment for driving without due care and attention. He was additionally fined $1,500.00, payable in two months, or face 14 days for driving without insurance, and $750.00, payable in two months, or face 14 days for driving without a valid driver’s license. These offences were committed on January 20, 2024.
  4. Corrine Francis of Hummingbird Development, Camps, was convicted and fined $2,000.00, payable in two months, or face 14 days of imprisonment for driving without due care and attention committed on May 13, 2023.
  5. Clayton Powell of Main Street St. Paul’s was convicted and fined $1,000.00, payable in one month, or face 14 days of imprisonment for driving without due care and attention committed on February 27, 2024.
  6. David Morgan of Craddock Road, Nevis, was convicted and fined $1,000.00, payable by August 2, 2024, or face 14 days of imprisonment for driving without a valid driver’s license. He was also fined $1,500.00, payable by August 30, 2024, or faces 14 days of imprisonment for driving without insurance. These offences were committed on February 11, 2023.

Additionally, 15 ticket cases were withdrawn after proof of payment was presented, and 15 cases were adjourned to a subsequent date.
